Suri & Huacaya Alpacas
Our farm is located in North Central Texas, along the Red River in the town of Burkburnett. We raise both Suri and Huacayas. Established in December of 2005, the Jones Family started with 2 alpacas and five acres.
It all began several years earlier when we saw an infomercial on alpacas. At that moment I (Lorraine) decided if our dream of living outside the city limits became achievable, we would have alpacas. Of course the rest of the family just laughed it off as another fantasy that couldn’t possibly happen.
Needless to say we finally purchased five acres just outside of town and I convinced the family to just go “look” at 2 alpacas in a nearby town. Those big brown eyes and gentle nature got the entire family mesmerized, and after some intense research Doug just couldn’t say no.
Alpacas are a great tax advantage and probably the easiest of livestock to care for. We would like to encourage anyone interested in the alpaca lifestyle to come by and visit.
